Why Another BLOG When I Can't Find Time To Do The First One?

It's true that life is so busy I've been unable to regularly write in our family blog...

My hope and my goal is to get
"There's No Place Like Home"
up and running again-
and writing REGULARLY!

I love blogging, I love writing, I love sharing and I love helping others!

Blogging/writing/sharing helps me to see the joy in our life,
to focus on the positive
and to simply remember all the fun we have!

It's a forum to help others, to encourage readers
and hopefully bring glory to GOD!

So why a blog on marriage?
I'm not a therapist, I'm not a counselor and
I'm surely no expert on marriage.

Because,
I feel there is a need for this topic for couples of ALL ages!
and
I believe I/we can help others who need a place
 to be encouraged and supported.

We have many strong supportive advocating adoption groups
but what about after the adoptions?

What about the couple that has decided to journey down the road less traveled?
They need support, they need encouragement,
they need to keep their marriage healthy
amongst all the many challenges.

This blog is not just for adoptive families.
There is so much I wish I would have known going into our marriage
and throughout the 36 years...

I am hoping you will be blessed by this blog!

After 5 birth children and then deciding
to follow God's calling with adoption...
Life has not been
just a "bowl of cherries".
It's more like a box of chocolates...
you not always sure what your going to get.

Don't get me wrong...
it's been good and most of the time great
but challenges are unfortunately a part of life.

Over our 36 years of marriage we have lived
the Good, the Bad and the Ugly...
The two of us have been around the block a few times and
I'm thinking we have some wisdom, humor, information to share
with our readers that can hopefully be helpful!

Marriage is hard work, it's not the fairy tale we all dream of as a child.
Hard work is okay...
When you work hard at something you can savor the benefits
and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Marriage is amazing and also disappointing,
all at the same time.

My knowledge comes from experience (36 plus years of marriage),
from going to marriage counseling with Mr. Right and from books
(including the Bible and every marriage book I can get my hands on-
we LOVE the library and I am a self help book nut).

Hubby and I love to be together and he is
 the love of my life.
That sounds so beautiful...
and it's true...
BUT sometimes it's not...

Are you with me?
